*Golden Age Explosion: Birth of an Era “The Golden Age of tango meant an explosion of musical diversity, new sounds and the ever-changing ways of embodying tango. In this seminar, you will gain access to understanding not only theses new sounds and changes but also to the ways of unlocking your musicality in the dance through things things like: how D’Arienzo changed both tango music history as well as the dance forever, to the complexity of Troilo or the smoothness of Fresedo. Understanding them is perhaps the best way to embrace their essence on the dance floor while also unlocking your musicality. Seminar will include a combination of lecture time and dance floor time.

Julian’s Bio: Julian began dancing tango over fifteen years ago and loves it more now than ever before. Fortunately in his career he’s been able to expand his expression in tango through teaching internationally, community building and organizing festivals. Julian’s former career as a professional opera singer make him acutely aware of music. He uses this background when DJing festivals and marathons around Europe but also each time he gives tango music and history seminars.

Of all these areas of tango, it’s teaching that brings Julian the most endearing satisfaction. Through teaching he sees the progression from a scared beginner to a confident and eager dancer. To see someone develop their own tango language during a course is exactly what teaching tango is about. Julian’s teaching style uses the social dancing of the milonga as the ultimate guide when learning to dance.

Here is a blog post interview of Julian from 2012:
